The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) is proud
to organize the tenth Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) taking
place from February 26 - March 01, 2014 at the Bahrain International
Convention & Exhibition Centre. This much-awaited annual garden show

Khalifa, King ofBahrain and the support of Her Royal Highness Princess
Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of the King of Bahrain, President
of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development.
The past ten years have witnessed a shift in focus that put
agricultural development at the forefront of the country's agenda.
Farming has become the job of choice for a number of families who have
invested in modern green houses that produce a variety of vegetables in
quantities that can cover a portion of the demands of the local market.A
number of start-up companies that specialize in farming, landscaping,
green house technology and agricultural training have also been
established over the past decade to meet the demand for agricultural
services in the country. New gardens and parks have been built and old
parks were renovated all over the country.
The year 2012 has seen the launch of the first Farmer's Market that
provided an exclusive platform for Bahraini farmers to showcase their
goods to the public. Work is currently ongoing to build a permanent
Farmer's market that will become a destination for consumers who crave
fresh local produce. The Bahrain International Garden Show will
continue to provide a platform for companies to expand their client base
in a region that is currently directing large investments into the
agricultural sector in order to address the challenges of the future.
The show will also focus this year on the latest trends in using
technology in agriculture to increase productivity in an environmental
and cost-efficient manner.
The Bahrain International Garden Shows attracts over 20,000 visitors
every year and is considered a one stop shop for experts, and hobbyists
alike. Take advantage of this opportunity to promote your business to a
wide local and regional client base of different levels of expertise and
interests.
Welcome to the Bahrain International Garden Show 2014.
